Dtm Race Driver 3 Nordschleife Download: Test Your Skills and Speed on the Green Hell

The track was inaugurated in 1927 with the Eifelrennen events for bikes and cars, taking place on the combined Nordschleife and Südschleife, with a length of 28.265 km (17.563 mi). On the unfamiliar track, the best motorcyclists achieved an average race speed of about 90 km/h (55.9 mph). The best driver was Rudolf Caracciola in the big Mercedes S, at an average of 96.5 km/h (60.0 mph). In the three German Grand Prix that were contested there in the late 1920s, 18 laps resp. 508 km (315.7 mi) distance had to be covered. The cars of the time managed that in just under five hours, with an average of just over 110 km/h (68.4 mph), with lap times not under 15 minutes. The Eifelrennen events soon moved to the much shorter Südschleife.

Nürburgring (DE), 12th September 2016. After the DTM weekend at the Nürburgring (DE), BMW works driver Augusto Farfus (BR) drove the Shell BMW M4 DTM race taxi at the legendary Nordschleife (DE) on Monday. This unique fan promotion from Shell, Premium Technology Partner of BMW Motorsport, was made possible by special conversion work on the car. The Shell BMW M4 DTM race taxi was adjusted for the specific track conditions on the Nordschleife.

The Nordschleife is the longest permanent race track in the world. Ten DTM races took place there between 1988 and 1993. No DTM races have been contested at the Nordschleife since 2nd May 1993. BMW has claimed 12 DTM wins at the Nürburgring so far, more than at any other circuit. However, they only recorded one win on the Nordschleife. Jacques Laffite (FR) remains the only driver in DTM history to have won a race on the Nordschleife for BMW. On 16th June 1990, he crossed the line in first place after four laps on the then 25.3-kilometre circuit, in the BMW M3. At that time, the DTM race took place together with the 24-hour race.

There are many features that you can tweak to tailor the driving experience to your needs. If you're a more serious driver, you may want to try out the harder difficulty setting and the new race rules, flags and practice and qualifying laps, which add a massive dose of realism to the title. However, if it's simple 'get in and go' racing you're after, you'll find yourself nicely catered for too.

1939 Maserati 8CTFInspired to compete against the German juggernauts Auto Union and Mercedes before World War II, the Maserati 8CTF was the brainchild of Ernesto Maserati. Having been saved from financial ruin by Italian industrialist Adolfo Orsi, the Maserati brothers were tasked with building a car to give the Germans pause. The eight-Cylinder Test Fissa, or 8CTF, was derived of two banks of four-cylinder blocks with an integral cylinder head (Test Fissa) that employed twin camshafts and two superchargers. The resulting output was 360 horsepower and made the 8CTF competitive with its German counterparts. In Europe the 8CTF consistently started off strong, chasing down the Mercedes W154 and giving Italian fans much joy. Despite reliability issues, an 8CTF driven by local driver Paul Pietsch managed a third place at the Nürburgring. In the States the 8CTF earned its most prominent victories at the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940 as well as back-to-back wins in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Both Indy 500 wins were taken with driver Wilber Shaw behind the wheel. A couple turns in this relic of racing history will quickly teach a driver respect for racers like Shaw and Pietsch who drove these powerful and wily cigar-bodied cars to glory in a bygone era of racing.
